If you're a Catholic, would it still be considered okay if you went to mass in a different church?

It would be wrong to receive communion, as you said. A Catholic is allowed to attend the service of a different denomination, but still is required to attend mass for that Sunday or holy day of obligation. If you're on vacation and can't find a Catholic church you can attend a daily mass when you get home to make up for the required mass you missed. Source(s): Catholic 1 year ago 3 people rated this as good Thank youu! I told my friend this and she was relieved :) . She didn't really want to miss mass and she couldn't make it this weekend. This also helps me in the event I can't go to mass :) . Thanks muchly :').
